More than half of the country is affected by hard water. The parts of the UK that are most affected are central England, the east and south. Hard water is not always obvious but one easy way to spot the effects of hard water is the scale build up that is present on the inside of kettles. This will be on the heating element and around the outside of the kettle. Less obvious is the build up of corrosion on the end of taps.
